Direct Cutting of Designed Cases
Complete the case in your orthodontic design software (e.g. eset) and export the file with cutting toolpaths.
Import into SmartCutter — the model and cutting lines are recognized automatically.
Verify the parameters and start cutting — no pre-processing required.
Best for: batch production of treatment-plan cases — cutting lines generated by the design software, no manual drawing, no human error.
Mode 2 · Without a design file
SmartDesign Pre-Processing Route
Export a closed-shell base STL from your intraoral-scan or 3D design software.
In SmartDesign (free), the positioning fixture auto-aligns; draw the gingival margin line — about 2–3 minutes.
SmartCutter auto-generates the cutting path and cuts.
Best for: standard retainers and simple aligners without personalized design — small-batch, quick turnaround.
